Missing Maps Annual Report 2025

This report (see PDF) provides an overview of activities undertaken by Missing Maps member organizations between September 2024 and October 2025. It  highlights key successes and challenges, as well as plans for the year 2026. These updates were presented at the Missing Maps Annual Gathering held in Edinburgh (United Kingdom) on November 12 and 13, 2025.

Missing Maps is an initiative led by a collective of organizations working towards a common goal of creating accessible map data in areas where humanitarian organizations are operating. Each member organization carries out their own mapping activities with their wider communities guided by shared ethics.

Missing Maps would be nothing without this collaboration of participating organizations, communities and individuals. To achieve this goal, Missing Maps member organizations grow a global community of mappers to support those living in places at risk, or affected by disasters and crises. OpenStreetMap (OSM) is the volunteer-driven open data mapping platform which makes all of this possible, supported by the not-for-profit OpenStreetMap Foundation.
